Lately, I've been bugged by the ongoing winter days.....endless snow, days inside, and limited sun light. Friday was a nice change of pace and a spirit lifter. Hubby has had to scale back the hours for his crew to four 10 hour days, so he had Friday off. YEA!!!Monkey and I took full advantage of having Dada at home! The winter festival, Fur Rondy, was coming to a close this weekend, so we decided to drive into town and enjoy a beautiful Alaska winter day! Boy, it was gorgeous too! Sunshine and upper 20s makes for an enjoyable day believe it or not. We loved looking at the snow sculptures! What amazing work these artists do with snow! The winner is pictured above! Monkey had fun toddling around in the snow and meeting all the friendly dogs that were out enjoying the day with their owners!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Humpy's. They have the best halibut chunks in town. And it always makes for some good people watching. We went shopping for new snowmachine pants for Dada. I think this may have actually been Monkey's favorite part of the day. Each shop we went into he would run from snowmachine to 4-wheeler making his "vuum, vuum" noise. Hilarious! Needless to say, he had many admirers!
After this, it was home for naps and delicious potato soup that night!!
What a wonderful day!
