Monkeyisms

From the mouth of Monkey
  • "keppup pease" - you have found a love for ketchup...licking it off your fries before eating them.
  • "bess you" - whenever anyone sneezes or coughs you make sure to bless them :)
  • "cuse me" - we were eating dinner the other night and you happened to toot rather loud. without any prompting, you excused yourself....such good manners little man.
  • "oh man" - writing this down doesn't give it justice. it is so, so cute when you say it.
  • "poomp bottle" - you constantly remind me every morning that i need to pump a bottle for the baby....thanks for not letting me forget!!

We get a kick out of hearing you learn to talk. Constant jibber jabber. I knew you had fallen asleep in the car the other day b/c it was suddenly quiet. No play-by-play from the back seat. Sure enough, with book in hand, you were sawing zzz's!! We look forward to the continued play-by-play Monkey! You always keep it interesting!!

Love you!!

Cobwebs

My Mom called this afternoon and caught me in a crazy-Mama moment. I was complaining that I don't get anything done. It takes me 3 days to clean the house (and we don't have a big house) b/c I'm constantly interrupted by something or someone. I have animals and a picture that have been waiting to be hung up on the wall for 6 weeks now. The main computer has been disassembled for 5 months now!!! I could go on, but I won't bore you.

She caught me at my crazy time. Late afternoon, early evening when I need to get dinner started but Monkey is still playing outside. On a side note, it was absolutely beautiful out today and being in Alaska in October you have to take full advantage of those days. You never know when it's going to be your last one for the next 7-8 months. Little one was waking up and wanted to be nursed. I still needed to go to the store. Ugh!!

Then she reminded me of a little saying:

Cobwebs will wait. They're only little once.
Leave it to your Mama (who always knows best) to put it into perspective for me!
Thanks Mom!! I love you!

So Behind

I'm so behind on blogging. So many things I have running through my mind. Call me crazy but I actually have a list of things to eventually blog on. They are things I don't want to forget. Cute moments that will be forgotten if not written. I guess in due time I will get to them. I should make myself a goal and promise to blog one or two each day, but I don't know if that's asking too much right now. I might just end up letting myself down.....we'll see!

Ironic

~More Shower Humor~
Before our shower tonight (yes, Mommy was being lazy again), you were running around saying "shampoop, shampoop"! We chuckled about it.
Fast forward through the shower, I was out drying off, and you, Monkey, were still in the shower playing. All of a sudden I heard, "ucky, ucky". I looked over and you were standing in the corner pointing at the door. I'm thinking "oh great, what did you find? It's a shower. Nothing is supposed to be ucky." I walk over to find two small poops laying there! I scooped them out and reassured you that everything was okay. The look on your face was priceless, as this was the first time you witnessed your own poopy outside of a diaper. Too funny little man!

What else?

Seriously, what else can the airlines impose on us? Are they going to start charging us for using the bathrooms while in-flight?

Today Delta decided to join the ranks of United and US Airways. They will be charging a $10 surcharge for travel around the holidays (ie. Thanksgiving and Christmas) and some of the time around spring break 2010.

For those of us who fly frequently or depend on our "wonderful" airline industry to fly us to our loved ones, this is frustrating. Just add it into the price of the ticket. Don't tell us your adding a surcharge. We never would have known. This just gives us another reason to not like you but have to depend on you. Ugh......

So...

So sweet.
So patient.
So handsome with your big brown eyes.
So alert to the world around you.
So easy going.
So strong already.
So in love with your big brother.
So willing to wait while I "fix" Monkey's "situations".
So full of smiles that light up our world.
So in LOVE with you are we.

20...almost 21

Oh Monkey, what a month your 20th has been. Hence, the reason I'm writing this 20 minutes before you turn 21 months.

We. Rocked. Your. World.
You. Have. Rocked. Ours. Back.

You are so full of Mr. Independence lately. I love it, but sigh about it all at the same time.

You are the best big brother any little brother could ask for. Thanks for showering the kisses on yours and never forgetting him when it's time to say "night, night"!

My heart quivers at the love I have for you. It grew exponentially this last month.

Always and forever,
Your Mama
